Finance Minister, Dr. Yuvraj Khatiwada on May 29, presented an ambitious Rs. 1.532 trillion federal budget for the fiscal year 2076/77 (2019/20) in the joint session of the House of Representatives and National Assembly. This is the second budget tabled by Mr. Khatiwada as the Finance Minister. This budget has laid high emphasis on infrastructure development, namely develpment of roads, development of railways, waterways, hydropower and airports. The budget has set an ambitious GDP target of 8.5 percent keeping inflation level below 6 percent.
