The Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada tabled the first Budget of PM KP Oli led majority government earlier this week. He allocated total budget of NPR 1315.16 Billions of which 62.83% was Current Expenditure and 26.21 was Capital Expenditure.
Government emphasized on the development of infrasturcutre and trousim. It proposed the plan for the "Visit Nepal Year 2020. In his budget speech, Khatiwada said, “Emphasis will be given to the development and expansion of hydroelectricity and all types of renewable energy to provide modern energy to all Nepali households as per the demand within the next five years.” Additionally, the period from 2018 to 2028 will be celebrated as “Energy Decade.”
